Over
the years Voyage has established a quality-driven
and distinctive shooting style so that all our content
has a similar look and feel. Our Videographers have
specific shooting requirements that must be fulfilled
to maintain the Voyage standards of style. Beyond
this they also have the freedom to creatively capture
each unique destination. This ensures that all programming
is visually compelling and of the highest quality.

Hotel
and Resort properties can expect a level of professionalism
and courtesy from all members of the Voyage filming
crew. Voyage crews maintain a level of behavior consistent
with the quality of our brand and the quality of the
destinations being filmed. It is of paramount importance
that our filming is discreet and efficient so as not
to disrupt or influence guests’ experiences
in any way. Likewise we work in tandem with hotel
staff to ensure that workflow is not interrupted.
As is the industry standard, all Voyage productions
are insured by comprehensive production coverage.

Filming in native High Definition video format ensures
the best quality video presentations and beautifully
captured detail. Voyage can also use existing footage
that meets our HD requirements, and in some cases
convert existing footage.

Each field producer is responsible for a very specific
content checklist, ensuring consistency and quality
of coverage. A Voyage producer will discuss all coverage
requirements with the appropriate hotel representative
during research and planning. Our priority is ensuring
that each property is filmed in the best light with
a thorough and comprehensive approach that leaves
no special feature uncovered or overlooked.
Maintaining our reputation as a credible and thorough
producer of travel and lifestyle programming is of
critical importance. Therefore we shoot in a manner
that will accurately and comprehensively reflect the
properties we are covering. It is also expected that
our crews deliver footage that shows the property
in the best possible light.
Our audience is interested in the entire travel experience,
and thus Voyage Hotel Profiles must depict all aspects
of a resort property. To accomplish this, the Voyage
crew will film each hotel’s public areas (the
lobby, resort grounds, restaurants, etc.), guest accommodations
(rooms, suites, villas, etc.), resort facilities (tennis
courts, pool areas, the fitness center, spa etc.)
and any other distinguishing features. We will also
film establishing shots of the property and environs
to capture the atmosphere of the property.
Because each property is unique, Voyage is always
on the lookout for details that distinguish each property
and make it truly memorable, such as decorative artwork,
signature cocktails and menu items, or one-of-a-kind
amenities. Voyage works closely with hotel management
and staff to make sure that the food looks magnificent,
rooms appear spotless, and the property is inviting.
We take immense pride in having the most professional
and creative travel footage in the world.

Voyage sends a Videographer to oversee and execute
all aspects of production including filming, lighting
and audio. Our experience has indicated that a one-man
crew is most efficient for our production needs, and
least intrusive to hotel properties.
Filming – The Videographer employs a tripod
for the majority of the filming process to ensure
that the architectural aspects of the property are
properly captured. Voyage sets a refined and dignified
tone with strong and well framed shots through the
use of a tripod. The Videographer will use a handheld
camera as needed, when filming small spaces, such
as bathrooms, or a day trip where a tripod isn’t
practical. Lighting – Under most circumstances
it is not necessary to bring an extensive lighting
kit for filming on location, as modern camera chips
are extremely light sensitive. Our Videographers typically
shoot during the day to maximize natural, ambient
daylight. When the use of lighting instruments is
required, we will use lights that enhance the natural
light and don’t overtly distract from or change
it.
Audio – Hotel Profiles are filmed without a
host, so audio requirements are minimal. For most
of the footage that we capture, we need only ambient
audio, such as the hustle and bustle of a lobby or
the splashing in a pool. Cases that require audio
dialogue include coverage of tours, performances,
lessons or impromptu interviews. As is standard, people
involved in production will refrain from speaking
while the camera is rolling so that clean audio can
be captured.
